If you are not satisfied with the appearance of your smile, you can reach out to the office of Paul D. Nifong, Jr., DDS, for help. We have extensive experience in both medical and cosmetic dentistry, and we offer a variety of treatments to help you achieve your ideal smile. Whether you want to simply whiten your teeth or completely transform their appearance, we’ve got you covered.
In this article, we will focus on our dental veneers, providing an overview of how they are applied, so you know what to expect from the process.
- Consultation – First, you will need to come to the office to consult with Dr. Nifong about your dental veneers. Our staff will take dental x-rays and impressions, which we will then use to craft your custom veneers. We’ll also answer any questions you may have at this time.
- Preparation – Then, you’ll need to come in for a second appointment, during which we will prepare your teeth and apply the veneers. The preparation process consists of removing natural tooth material and sanding down your teeth to make room for the veneers to fit over them. You will be anesthetized for this process, so you won’t feel any pain or discomfort. After your teeth are prepared, we’ll take a second set of impressions in order to get the dimensions for the inner side of the veneers. Then, we’ll apply temporary veneers to protect your teeth until the custom veneers are ready.
- Application – Finally, once your veneers are ready to go on your teeth, you’ll come in for a third appointment. Our team will remove the temporary veneers and install the permanent ones, sealing them to your natural teeth for good.
